the FIN 지느러미
SYNOPSIS
In a post-war and ecologically devastated Korea, mutated outcasts called Omegas are exploited as cheap labor. Sujin, a young government worker, begins to doubt the state’s ideology as she pursues Mia, an Omega in hiding.
Director’s Statement
The lost dreams of those who perished at sea travel by night into United Korea’s corroding concrete walls, passing by bittersweet rancours echoing through empty corridors with many doors, none of them open. Some of those hiding behind those closed doors hear fearful sounds, but some hear the hymns of the sirens, calling out to them from the sea.
The Fin, set in a near-future Korea, explores the contagiousness of fear and the makings of myths.
